Our mind, mental body or “mental assets” are our single most important piece of equipment (or assets) we are ever given, and also happens to also be the least understood, least properly used, nor properly maintained or cared for piece of equipment we have.
Best we learn about how to get the most out of the most extraordinary and capable assets you will ever have, and learn how to look after and develop them.
Like any piece of plant, equipment or technology in our workplaces, it is useful and indeed important to know how they work, what functions they have, how to use them properly for the right job, and how to maintain and look after them.
Critical plant and equipment at work is always subject to often stringent responsive and preventative maintenance arrangements and regular calibration. This is all under the heading of "proper care, use and maintenance".

As our mental assets govern our quality of thinking, decision making, communication, functioning and maintenance of our physical body, mediation of our moods and feelings (to name just a few functions), why would be not have a proper care, use and maintenance regime for them?
This being what we specialise in at Best Space by teaching and implement just that for our mental assets. Improving knowledge about proper use, functionality, care and development.

We know the benefits and need for regular physical exercise, and go to the gym to maintain and develop the physical body so why not do the same for the mental body (which ultimately governs the physical body, good thinking and feeling too).
We make sure the "physical body" or physical assets have proper exercise, rest, nutrition/diet and hygiene, and the same should be provided for its co-partner the "mental body", our mental assets, which is what we provide for here .

Much of these functions are autonomously managed for us operating below of level of awareness or consciousness. Hence why we don't tend to learn about them as they just work for us, our breathing and circulation is maintained, waste is eliminated, our memory is just there to call upon, we learn from experience, our finger begins to heal after a paper cut, we feel more refreshed after a rest etc.
So much functionality is not really known, developed or key functioning looked after or provided for properly.
Though we do tend to notice when they are compromised, and this is often from stress or over use.
Good constructive functioning, particularly decision making, thinking and communication can and often is impaired under stress or load, and this unfortunately is often the time that we need good constructive functioning the most.
This being a key area we focus on to ensure how to avoid this, and ensure your assets are working well for us irrespective of stress, adverse circumstances or conditions.

Simply by learning about what these key mental functions are, how they are either compromised or enhanced, and doing either more or less of the things to compromise or enhance them can we develop or resolve much.
This being very different focus and training than going to a psychologist, counsellor or psychiatrist. By contrast we don't assume there is a problem or an issue, this is simply about learning how your assets work, what hinders them, what strengths them, using the right tools for the job, and looking after them with some reactive maintenance practices or proactive ones, and above all development. Just like in professional sports, the same approach is taken here.

The value of our mental assets working best for us, and not in a compromised state, compromising our executive functioning and good physical operation of our body does not need much articulation, the benefits are immeasurable.
